Tickets are now on sale for the 14th Annual Creepy Crawl. Hear actors tell stories from the darker side of Gilpin County's past this October as you visit five historic buildings, some of which are off limits the rest of the year. Peer around dark corners and down spooky hallways and find out if you really are afraid of ghosts. October 20, 21, 27, and 28 with tours departing every half hour from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tickets $15 in advance or $20 at the door. The Gilpin Historical Society's mission is to discover, procure, preserve and display whatever maybe related to the civil, social and economic history of the county of Gilpin, and to establish and maintain collections of information, records, and objects related to or having a bearing on the history of said county, and to keep such collections for reference in suitable locations. In addition to maintaining the museum's collection, the society also operates the Gilpin History Museum, the Thomas House Museum, the Coeur d'Alene Mine Shaft House, and leads tours of St. James Methodist Church, the Teller House, Opera House, and the Weekly Register-Call Print Shop.
