Housed in Central City's old high school, built in 1870, the Gilpin History Museum is two floors full of Gilpin County History. Exhibits cover the social, political, and economic history of the county and include the Mountain Submarine, a recreated Main Street, the Mining Room, Gilpin County: Mining Camp to Home, among others.
The Gilpin History Museum is closed for the winter but off season access is available by appointment or through our Tour Office. Admission is $7 per person, kids 12 and under free.
