Olde Town Conyers PATH Trail Ribbon Cutting

Thursday, October 19, 2017

(Conyers, GA—October 3, 2017) The city of Conyers, Rockdale County Public Schools and the PATH Foundation invite Conyers residents to the opening of the newest phase of the Conyers Olde Town Trail on Thursday, October 19 at 5:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the Nancy Guinn Memorial Library, 864 Green Street.

Mayor Randy Mills, members of the Conyers City Council, Rockdale County Public Schools school board members, and PATH officials will officially open the $1.7 million SPLOST and PATH-funded project that stretches nearly 1.57 miles connecting the Nancy Guinn Library to Pine Log Park. Construction of this phase of the Olde Town Trail began in November 2016.

Another community partner, the East Metro Board of Realtors, recently contributed $2,100 towards benches installed along the new phase of the trail.

“We encourage the public to come join in this celebration as we open this multi-use trail for walking, jogging, rollerblading, cycling and anything that gets people out of the house exercising and enjoying the outdoors,” said Mayor Mills.

Following brief remarks and a ribbon cutting, those that attend are encouraged to bring bicycles, running shoes and pets (on leashes) to enjoy a portion or all of the new PATH trail extension.
