Monday, March 05, 2018

(Conyers, GA—March 5, 2018) The Conyers Cherry Blossom Festival, entering its 37th annual year this March 24-25 at the Georgia International Horse Park, was recognized with four Southeast Festivals and Events Association (SFEA) Kaleidoscope Awards at a ceremony held in conjunction with SFEA’s annual conference last week in Murfreesboro, Tennessee.

Top festivals and events throughout the southeast were recognized for their outstanding contribution to the events industry. The Kaleidoscope Awards are awarded in numerous categories and judges evaluate event entries based on originality, creativity, media impact, volunteer programs, and the overall impact to the community. The 2017 Conyers Cherry Blossom Festival was the recipient of four awards in competition with other festivals at this year’s awards ceremony.

The Conyers Cherry Blossom Festival was awarded a Gold Kaleidoscope Award for Best Festival Photograph by local photographer Gary Ezell, a Silver Kaleidoscope Award for Best Marketing Campaign, a Bronze Kaleidoscope Award for Best Television Ad/PSA and a Bronze Kaleidoscope Award for Best Festival (in the category of festivals with a budget over $75,000).

The Southeast Festivals and Events Association is a membership-based organization comprised of festival and event planners, venues, and industry service providers. SFEA was founded in 2009 and strengthens the festival and event industry throughout the southeast United States by hosting education sessions, networking opportunities and award recognitions allowing for professional growth within the festivals and events industry.

“As one of Conyers’ longest running festivals, we strive each year to keep the festival fresh and introduce new elements to appeal to those attending,” said Jill Miller, event manager and festival coordinator. “The Kaleidoscope Awards validate that we’re doing just that and we’re really looking forward to the 2018 festival and what attendees will experience.”

The 2018 Conyers Cherry Blossom Festival presented by High Priority Plumbing encourages festival-goers to “Live Life in Full Bloom” at this year’s festival, March 24-25 from 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Georgia International Horse Park. The festival, also named a Southeast Tourism Society Top 20 Spring 2018 Event, features hundreds of unique art and craft exhibitors, multiple food courts, cultural performances, live music, and a children's area. Festival highlights for 2018 include the Grizzly Experience, a dynamic sound garden, and performances from rising country artist John King.
