Hartwell Elementery School

There were originally 2 school buildings built to serve the elementary and high school students of Hartwell. Hartwell High School had a fire and was demolished, but Hartwell Elementary remains. The elementary school gymnasium was a project of the Works Progress Administration (WPA), which put people back to work during the Great Depression. The main building and gymnasium are listed on the National Register.
