Depot/Conyers Welcome Center
-
Dr. William D. Conyers of nearby Covington, Georgia, purchased the land the Depot stands on today from a
stubborn blacksmith named John Holcombe for $700 and deeded it to the Georgia Railroad. The present building was built in 1891. The last passenger train stopped at the Conyers Depot on June 30, 1972. The Conyers Welcome Center opened in the Depot in December 2005. (Hours of operation are Monday-Friday, 8 a.m.-5 p.m.)
