Unveiled at the Nancy Guinn Memorial Library's 100th birthday celebration in February 2019, Mount Pleasant, SC artist Beau Smith's "Beautiful Frogs" parent and child copper sculpture sits on a custom-designed stone lily pad just outside of the library entrance. Funded by the Conyers Civic League and dedicated to the memory of the late Superior Court Judge Clarence R. Vaughn, Beau Smith's artwork brings joy and allows people to reconnect with nature, whimsy, and innocence. A Beautiful Frog was originally installed at the library in 2012, but was stolen in 2017. The Civic League raised funds to commission and proudly dedicate the new sculpture.
